Opportunity Home Unveiled First Self-Developed Affordable Housing Community for Seniors
Opportunity Home San Antonio celebrated the grand opening of Snowden Living, its first self-developed, multi-family community for seniors aged 62 and older.
This $36.8 million development, located in the Medical Center area, features 135 affordable apartment homes for seniors earning 30%, 50% or 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). For example, a couple earning $21,000 annually (30% AMI) would pay approximately $531 per month in rent.
Snowden Living includes one- and two-bedroom units equipped with central heating and cooling, energy-efficient appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, and a full suite of inclusive amenities such as a media room, activity room, beauty salon, dog park and pool—all designed to promote well-being and community connection.
The development was made possible through key partnerships with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the San Antonio Area Foundation and PNC Bank.
Snowden Living reflects Opportunity Home’s mission to create equitable, compassionate and vibrant communities where individuals and families can thrive.
