Jose Mascorro serves as Chief Operating Officer at Opportunity Home, bringing 22 years of experience in the affordable housing industry. He previously served as Public Housing Division Director and Development Division Director for one of the nation’s top ten public housing agencies, overseeing 7,500 public housing units, managing $65 million operating and capital budget, and coordinating more than $1.2 billion in mixed-income housing development.
A San Antonio native, Jose also held senior leadership roles at as at Prospera Housing Community Services, most recently as Vice President of Property Management, where he oversaw 4,800 multifamily and senior units and led a team of 175 employees. During his 17-year tenure at Prospera, he advanced through roles including Director of Corporate Administration and Director of Resident Services, gaining extensive experience in operations and resident services.
Jose is a Housing Credit Certified Professional through the National Association of Home Builders and a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UT San Antonio) and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University.
