Marisa Smithwick serves as Senior Director of Public Housing for Opportunity Home. She leads the organization’s public housing operations, overseeing property management, compliance and program performance to support stable, well-maintained communities for residents.
With more than 26 years of experience in housing operations and program administration, Marisa brings deep expertise in managing large-scale housing programs and strengthening the systems that support them. Her work focuses on improving operational effectiveness, supporting staff development and ensuring quality service for the communities served.
Prior to joining Opportunity Home, Marisa spent more than two decades with the Corpus Christi Housing Authority, where she held several executive leadership roles, including Vice President of Asset Management overseeing Public Housing, Vice President of Housing Choice Voucher Program, and Vice President of Training and Technology. In these roles, she led programs serving thousands of families, strengthened operational systems and advanced staff development initiatives.
Marisa holds a range of industry certifications spanning public housing, property management and voucher programs, including Certified Public Housing Manager, Certified Apartment Manager, Certified Occupancy Specialist, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Property Manager, Certified HCV Specialist and Certified HCV Housing Quality Standards Specialist.
