“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
— Martin Luther King, Jr., April 1963
As we commemorate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., we stand with our community and the dream for social justice, respect and equal treatment for all, especially for housing justice.
Every day we see the residents of our communities often marginalized and discriminated against but that doesn’t stop them, or us, from our mission to build better communities. Our Opportunity Home residents share the same convictions and aspirations to provide the best for their families as all those across our country.
As housing providers, we care for our neighbors every day. We help our fellow San Antonians with a place to call home and an opportunity for economic equality in achieving the American dream that everyone deserves.
We advocate for and reshape communities crippled with generational poverty caused by years of economic segregation. We accomplish this by transforming neighborhoods into thriving communities, and championing legislation to address inequality in bringing positive change to our community.
Our work is far from being done, but we are committed to identifying new solutions and actions that benefit our residents, especially the most disadvantaged among us.
The future of our country is in the strength of our diversity. Opportunity Home will always advocate for equality and justice because black, brown and all marginalized lives matter.
