Ruth Bautista serves as the Director of Public Housing, overseeing a portfolio of 57 communities that house more than 5,900 families. She has over 10 years of experience contributing to affordable housing management.
Growing up in public housing as the child of a single parent, she developed a strong sense of resilience, determination and a desire to give back to the community that helped shape her. Despite the financial struggles, Bautista was determined to pursue higher education. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management from Texas A&M Kingsville.
Bautista’s experience at Opportunity Home has allowed her to give back to her community through mentorship, volunteerism and supporting local initiatives.
Today, she continues to work towards a future where opportunity is accessible to all, and she is proud to be part of the efforts that make that vision a reality.
