Ruth Bautista serves as the Director of Public Housing, overseeing 57 communities that provide homes for more than 5,900 families. She brings more than 10 years of experience in affordable housing management.
Raised in public housing by a single parent, Ruth developed resilience, determination and a desire to give back to the community that shaped her. Despite financial challenges, she remained focused on her education and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
At Opportunity Home, Ruth has been able to serve her community through mentorship, volunteerism and support for local initiatives. She remains dedicated to helping create a future where opportunity is accessible to all and is proud to contribute to the work that makes that vision possible.
