Originally from El Paso, Texas, Janet Garcia pursuing the Community Health Worker program at Alamo Colleges. She is an active member of the Avenida Guadalupe Association, a Community Development Corporation dedicated to strengthening the Guadalupe Street commercial corridor, developing affordable senior communities, providing housing counseling and financial education programs to underserved populations, and honoring the roots of San Antonio’s Mexican-American cultural heritage.
Garcia and her children are residents within Opportunity Home’s housing program. Through her education, community involvement and lived experience, she continues to champion opportunities that support and uplight her community.
