This imbalance varies significantly by area\, and there are entire neighborhoods without homes that are affordable to low-income households. The situation is getting worse as rents and home prices steadily rise while incomes stagnate. This creates serious equity problems in the region\, and impacts the health\, education\, and employment outcomes of individuals and families.
