
Born and raised in Lyford, Texas, Olga Garza Kauffman made San Antonio her permanent residence after completing her education at St. Mary’s University. With more than 45 years of experience in the fields of health and education, Kauffman has led wide-scale projects across the city through her previous roles and as a consultant.
In addition to serving with Opportunity Home as a Board of Commissioner, Kauffman has embarked on numerous leadership roles with community-based organizations, including serving as a founding member of the Institute of the History of Mexican American Civil Rights. Kauffman holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in Sociology and St. Mary’s University in Biology.
