
Brandee Perez is Opportunity Home’s Chief Operating Officer, leading the Federal Housing Programs Department, Community Development Initiatives Department and the Safety and Security Department, two of which are the agency’s largest departments. Under this portfolio, she oversees a staff of nearly 400 and assists in managing a budget of nearly $200 million.
As a San Antonio native, she is grateful for the opportunity to impact the lives of thousands of residents in the same community she was raised in.
Employed at Opportunity Home since 2005, Perez previously served in several roles at the agency including, most recently, Director of Federal Housing Programs where she successfully merged the management of the public housing and the assisted housing programs and improved standard operating procedures for the programs. During her tenure, the wait time for individuals to receive affordable housing assistance has decreased from a 4- to 7-year wait period to a 3- to 5-year wait period.
In February 2017, Perez was named to the Center Advisory Committee for the Center for Healthcare Services. In 2018, she was named as one of “Five Housing Choice Voucher Directors You Should Know About” in “Housing Futures.”
Perez holds a Master’s in Accounting from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Perez holds an industry certification in Housing Choice Voucher Executive Management, Public Housing Executive Management, Public Housing Management, Housing Choice Voucher Financial Management Specialist and Family Self Sufficiency Program. Outside of the agency, Perez, is an active volunteer for the LEE High School band, and she and her family participate in the Raul Jimenez Dinner and The Salvation Army Angel Tree each year to assist families in the community.
